Sticky Breakfast Bagels
This is a great starter to the day, and it's a perfect dish to serve overnight guests.

cup (2 sticks) fat-free margarine

1

cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    1 dozen bagels, cut in half

Preheat the broiler.
Combine the margarine, vanilla, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a blender.
Process on medium speed for 1 minute.
Spread the brown sugar mixture over each bagel half.
Broil for 4 to 5 minutes or until bubbly and brown.
Serve warm.
Yield: 12 (1-bagel) servings

cup skim milk
1 (14-ounce) package fat-free smoked sausage 2 egg whites
1 cup reduced-fat baking mix 1 tablespoon sugar
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
Spray a baking sheet with nonfat cooking spray.
Cut the sausage into 7 equal pieces.
Insert a popsicle stick into each sausage piece.
Combine the baking mix, milk, egg whites, sugar, and vanilla in a mixing bowl.
Beat the mixture until smooth.
Completely cover each sausage piece with dough.
Arrange the sausages on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Yield: 7 servings (1 breakfast stick per serving)
